Slice Parlor

For our first post we chose to visit Slice Parlor. Slice Parlor is a local pizza restaurant that has two locations in Albuquerque with one shop located in Nob Hill off Central Ave. and the other in the North East Heights. Their hours are great because they are open Monday through Saturday 11am-11pm and Sundays from 11am-10pm.

Slice parlor pizzas are baked on a deck oven and are inspired by New York City pizza. They make their dough and tomato sauce from scratch daily. Additionally, Slice Parlor uses whole milk mozzarella cheese and fresh herbs in every hand-tossed pizza. It is a locally owned and operated business. Slice parlor can be found on various social media platforms which include Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. They also have their own personal app where you can order your meal and pick it up all in one, and it is available to download on the Apple Store and Googleplay store. Their app is very easy to use and navigate, much like their website. Furthermore, Slice Parlor is available through Grubhub delivery services.

Their menu does not only stick to pizza. Slice Parlor serves pizza, salads, calzones, and various desserts. Beer and wine are also available for dine in drink options (Marble Brewery and Boxing Bear are the primary local beers served here). Other unique items found on the menu include; Mexican Coke Bottles, New York Seltzer, 30 different pizza toppings, 10 specialty pizzas, 3 different desserts, and gluten-free pizza options. The pizza sizes come in three different selections; pizza by the slice, an X-Large (18 inch pizza), and Huge (24 inch pizza). Slice Parlor also offers a daily special of a slice of pizza and a craft beer for only $6.99 before 5pm. Collectively, we enjoyed the unique taste of pizza found at Slice Parlor. Being far away from New York, it is nice to have a local restaurant serve traditional brick oven pizza.

Slice Parlor is family friendly as children of all ages are welcomed.  That said, most of Slice Parlor’s customers fall between the age range of 21-35, making this the targeted demographic for prices and specials. This age demographic is great for the location close to the University because of the popularity of pizza found in students and the ease and convenience found when buying pizza. Slice Parlor is very much into social media as they encourage everyone to take pictures of their food and tag them. Free WiFi is also accessible while at Slice Parlor, further enticing younger customers to post on their page about Slice Parlor. The overall vibe is very lively and welcoming with a large bar that often has live music. By means of a large seating area, Slice Parlor is able to accommodate many guests. Artwork decorates the walls and complements the large chalkboards advertising the selection of beer and highlighting daily specials.  One downfall found at the Nob Hill location is limited parking spots. The pizza found at Slice Parlor is affordable and tasty. For a unique atmosphere and inexpensive New York style brick oven pizza, Slice Parlor is the go-to place!
